Quote from: Italian Panic on Oct 14, 2026, 01:12 PMCrypto services in Hong Kong are legal because the city is part of china but enjoys a separate and almost entirely independent administration; therefore in my view the chinese also use it as a bridgehead for this sector.
China will change its mind when it realises that the digital yuan will also need digital backing in terms of its value, and only bitcoin can guarantee this.

Is it possible that even though bitcoin or crypto is banned in China, the leader of the country itself is hiding bitcoin in the area under Hong Kong because the operation of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency is legal here?

due to we know that the Hong Kong community is free when it comes to investing in cryptocurrency, right? Or is it possible that the president of China is also talking to the leader of Hong Kong about storing bitcoin secretly?

Bitcoin has set course for a new bull run, however there remains the uncertainty surrounding the possible IPO of Anthropic and OpenAI, which could drain a fair amount of money from the crypto sector and channel it into the stock market. In short, there's quite a bit of uncertainty.

What price do you expect by 31 December?

This year 2026 has certainly been the year in which we have witnessed large scale attacks on third party hardware devices: Coldcard, Ledger, Trezor, etc.

Is better to return to basics?

I love using Electrum and all those open source wallets whose source code is reviewed by the open source community and is therefore thoroughly controlled. I generate my own keys and passwords entirely offline and keep them offline.
Could this be the way to regain security and full confidence in using Bitcoin?

This has been one of the main narratives of recent years: that Bitcoin was used to launder money from mafia gangs, drug dealers and so on.
This widespread belief was of course fuelled by the mainstream media and emerged in the wake of the Silk Road case in 2013, following the arrest of Ross ulbricht.
I believe that Bitcoin is a tool offering absolute freedom, free from third parties, and that it has a bright future. A future that will sideline the role of banks, and this really stings them, which is why they speak ill of Bitcoin.

Guys, what do you think?

In my view, the market for real world assets, and consequently tokenisation, will be the monetary driving force of the future, where we will be able to sell shares even on Christmas Day. Personally, I would like to try tokenising shares so that, without having to wait for the stock exchange's usual trading hours, I can trade 24 hours a day, non stop, as soon as a news item threatens the stability of a investment portfolio.

Quote from: ferrddy on Oct 13, 2026, 06:25 PMI think the health of the ecosystem is measured by how many people are running nodes, holding their own keys, and using Bitcoin for actual settlement. Everything else is noise that eventually has to be reconciled against that base layer. And honestly, the base layer is what makes the whole thing worth anything in the first place.

This is the real problem, in this times is noise who running nodes, preserve his own keys and use bitcoin in total self custody. In this period with a huge quantity of attacks at self custody  provider and hardware we obtain a down in attraction of self custody with a plus for third party method. In this bank like Binance and Coinbase drink the best champagne.

This form is acceptable. In discussions if anyone wants to use English and things then the local moderator will make their own decision.

Yeah, good decision indeed. This sounds good.
